JENNIFER, LIZ AND THE ECO PODS:   OUR STORY SO FAR...

Ebbw View Eco Stays have been designed and created by us - Jennifer and Liz - in the heart of the Caerphilly hills in South Wales. 

We saw this beautiful site in late 2018 and fell in love with its tranquility and stunning views over the Ebbw Valley.  We love to connect with the natural countryside and encourage holiday makers to do the same in an environmentally sustainable way.

Our dream was to build a small camp site on the hillside above the Crosskeys area, where you can experience all the benefits of an outdoor holiday, amazing views across the valleys, with the home comforts of a secure roof over your head, the cosiness of a wood-burning stove, indoor and outdoor cooking facilities and an en-suite shower room.

With composting toilets, solar powered energy, naturally sourced water and a uncompromising commitment to using ecologically safe washing and cleaning products, our wooden constructed Eco Pods and your stay with us will take you back to nature in the kindest, calmest ways.  In recognition of our commitment to sustainable tourism, we were nominated as finalists in the National Welsh Environmental Awards in 2021, before we had even opened!

In order to maintain a quiet environment and also to reflect the steep terrain and limited space for young children to play safely on site, we are focusing our stays on adults only, with up to two people able to be accommodated in each Pod.     

​

Our hill is located just a few miles from Newport to the east, Cardiff to the south and the glorious Brecon Beacons to the north.  It is therefore the perfect base for you to explore South Wales and enjoy walking, mountain biking, horse riding or local tourist spots, or just to reconnect with the natural environment and absorb the unique scenery.

If you spend time on the site during the days, you will be able to meet our very friendly resident Kune-Kune pigs, Cagney and Lacey, as well as possibly enjoying a visit from one of our nosey cats or dogs.
